At its heart is plum kernel oil, prized for its luxurious slip, skin-conditioning oleic acid and naturally occurring tocopherols (vitamin E). Rosehip contributes carotenoids and essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, while camellia complements the blend with omega-9 nourishment, polyphenols and naturally occurring squalene.
Their fatty acids and phytosterols support skin’s protective lipid layer, while antioxidants help neutralize free radicals linked to collagen breakdown, fine lines and loss of firmness. Linoleic acid has a particularly important role: it’s essential to certain ceramides involved in healthy skin barrier formation. These ceramides help build the protective lipid structure around and between skin cells, helping retain moisture and limit the entry of external irritants.
